Inspection readiness: checklists, evidence and carry-forward
Upload a CAP or other checklist, link evidence from across the lab to each requirement, and carry confirmed evidence into the next edition.
Inspection readiness keeps the evidence for each checklist requirement current all year, so survey preparation is a review rather than a scramble. To find it, open "Inspections" under "Quality management" and choose the "Readiness" tab.
Which labs appear
Every site group and subspecialty with an active analyzer in the Test Directory appears as a lab, with its last and next inspection, its CLIA license holder and CLIA ID. You can exclude a lab that is not inspected separately, with a reason, and put it back later.
Uploading a checklist
Click "Upload checklist" and drop in the checklist PDF from your accrediting agency, such as CAP. Legion Diagnostics reads each requirement with its ID, phase, evidence of compliance and notes. The checklist is assigned to you, and you can carry forward work from an earlier edition.
Linking evidence
Each requirement collects evidence links to the records that show you meet it, plus a written response describing how the lab meets it. You can add evidence in three ways:
- Click "Upload evidence" and drop up to 10 PDFs. AI proposes which requirement each one belongs to, and you approve or reject every match.
- Click "Update evidence" to have the AI assistant search your SOPs, studies, training, quality records and more. It suggests links for you to approve or reject.
- Add a link by hand by picking a record or attaching a PDF.
Nothing counts as evidence until a person approves it. Each requirement shows "No evidence", "Pending", "Confirmed evidence" or "Not applicable", and filters find what still needs review.
Carrying forward
When a new checklist edition arrives, use "Carry forward from a prior checklist" to copy confirmed evidence and written responses for you to review. Requirements that are new or revised in the edition, and anything that could not be carried, are flagged.
The readiness index
The inspection readiness index is the share of active requirements with at least one confirmed evidence link. Requirements marked not applicable are left out, and a site without a designated Lab Director or CLIA License Holder loses points. It measures how complete your evidence is, not whether an inspector will agree with it; people review and approve every link.
Only a checklist's owner can assign it; the owner and assignee work on it.
