Sharing an approved document with a public link
Share the current version of an approved SOP or policy with anyone, without an account, through a link you can turn off or regenerate.
Sometimes people outside your organization need to read a document, like a courier checking specimen-handling instructions or a clinic following a collection procedure. A public link lets anyone with the link read one approved document without signing in.
Turning a link on
Open an approved document's "Actions" menu and choose "Public or private". Click "Turn on", then click "Copy link". Where the workflow allows, the final approver can also make a document public as it is published.
What a viewer sees
The link shows only that document: its title, document number, version, effective date and content. It always shows the current version, so a link you shared keeps working after the document is revised. Nothing else in Legion Diagnostics is visible, and the page is not listed by search engines.
Turning it off
Click "Turn off" to stop the link from working. Turning it on again restores the same link. If a link was shared too widely, click "Regenerate link" to replace it with a new one. The old link then stops working for good.
Managing public links needs the matching permission, which your Primary Site Administrator controls.
