Editing SOPs in the document editor

Format SOPs, edit selected text with AI, comment and resolve, lock static text, compare with the prior version, and download PDFs with a cover page.

Authored documents are written in the Legion Diagnostics document editor. The owner of a draft can edit it, and an approver assigned to a document pending approval can edit it too.

Writing and formatting

Use the toolbar to set paragraph styles, fonts and sizes, and line spacing; to apply bold, italic, underline, subscript, superscript, color and highlight; and to add images, horizontal lines and tables. Open the "Header & footer" panel to edit the header and footer.

To save your work, click "File", then "Save". Turn on "Save on close" to save automatically when you leave the page.

Working with selected text

Right-click a selection to do any of the following:

  • add a comment
  • choose "Edit highlighted with AI", describe the change, and let the AI rewrite only that text (use "Add to AI selection" first to collect several passages)
  • insert a link
  • choose "Mark selection as static" so the text is kept exactly as written, or "Remove static" to undo it

Static and locked template text shows in orange while a document is a draft or pending approval. It never shows in orange in approved documents or exported PDFs.

Comments

The comments panel lists every comment with its replies. Resolve a comment when it has been dealt with, and reopen it if needed.

Comparing with the prior version

When revising an authored document, use "Compare to Prior Version" to open a read-only, side-by-side view of the previous version, so you can see what has changed.

Downloading

To download a PDF or plain text copy, click "File", then "Download". A PDF can include a cover page: either the Legion Diagnostics cover, once the document is submitted or effective, or a PDF you upload. Where your lab requires it, exported PDFs can be watermarked as unofficial copies.
