Using the Legion Diagnostics AI assistant

Open the AI assistant from anywhere, attach files, keep a history of conversations, and follow the links it gives you to finish work in the app.

The AI assistant works alongside every page in Legion Diagnostics. It knows your lab's setup, studies, documents and quality records, and it uses the same actions and permissions you do.

Opening it

Click "AI Assistant" at the bottom of the sidebar, or press ⌘K on a Mac or Ctrl+K on Windows from anywhere in the app. It opens as a panel on the right that moves the page over rather than covering it, so you can keep working while it answers. To make it wider or narrower, drag its left edge. The app remembers your choice.

Conversations

Each conversation is kept in the list beside the chat. To start a new one, click "New chat". To find an old one, use "Search chats", which searches titles and messages. To delete one, use its menu. Conversations name themselves from what you asked, and they are private to you within your organization.

A new conversation offers a few starting points, such as a tour of the app or a walk-through of a first verification study.

Asking and attaching

Type your question and press Enter. Shift+Enter starts a new line. Anything you type but do not send is kept as a draft.

To attach up to three files to a message, click the paperclip or drop them onto the panel. You can attach spreadsheets (CSV, Excel), PDFs and images. PDFs the assistant reads can be up to 150 pages and must not be password-protected.

While it works, the assistant shows what it is doing. To cancel a reply, click "Stop". Closing the panel does not stop it: the reply carries on and is there when you come back.

Links in answers

Answers often end with links, to a page or to an action such as reviewing your data, opening an analyte or reviewing extracted claims. Nothing opens until you click. The assistant never moves you around the app on its own. Reports and files it creates appear as downloads and are kept under "Output files" in your user menu.
