Shifts and shift coverage at a site
Record the shifts a site runs and who usually works them, then see which live analytes nobody on a shift is authorized to run.
Shifts describe the pattern of work at a site and who usually works each part of the day. They are not a schedule: Legion Diagnostics does not plan rotas or replace your scheduling system.
Setting up shifts
When the first person is added to a site's roster, three shifts are created for it: Day (07:00 to 15:00), Evening (15:00 to 23:00) and Night (23:00 to 07:00), every day of the week.
To change them or add more, click "Actions", then "Add shift".
Each shift has a name, start and end times in the site's time zone, the days it runs, and an optional minimum number of testing staff. An end time earlier than the start runs past midnight.
Who usually works each shift
Each roster entry records the shifts the person usually works. Open the "Shifts" tab to see, for each shift, the people who usually work it and how many live analytes nobody on that shift is authorized to run. Click that number to open the "Analyte coverage" tab for just that shift.
Shift flags
A shift is flagged when:
- nobody usually works it
- it has live analytes that nobody on it can run
- fewer testing staff usually work it than the minimum you set
Archiving a shift keeps it in the history and takes nobody off the roster.
