Specimen Group Guidelines
Specimen Groups
The 21 specimens are divided into three groups for analysis:
Low (Control) — Baseline Group
Positions 1, 2, 3 — Low specimens before any High exposure
These three measurements establish the baseline for the low-concentration pool before any exposure to high-concentration specimens. They represent the expected low result free of carryover contamination and form the reference against which test specimens are compared.
High Specimens
Positions 4, 5, 7, 8, 13, 14, 16, 17, 19, 20 — High concentration specimens
High-concentration specimens measured in the sequence. These are not evaluated for carryover themselves but create the contamination exposure that the subsequent Low (Test) specimens are designed to detect.
Low (Test) — Test Group
Positions 6, 9, 10, 11, 12, 15, 18, 21 — Low specimens following High exposure
Low-concentration specimens measured immediately after one or more high-concentration specimens. If carryover is present, these values will be systematically elevated above the baseline. The carryover estimate is derived from comparing this group's mean to the baseline mean.
